Wilpattu National Park

We journeyed north up the coast from Negombo to catch a glimpse of the elusive leopards in Wilpattu National Park. The adventure started in a tented camp just outside the park boundary. While the tented camp didn’t measure up to the elegant Serengeti camps on the pages of National Geographic, the startlingly large spider causing my Mom to fall out of the shower, made the hot and buggy night worth it for the laughs. The safari proved to be a success from the fun, bumpy, jeep ride to all of the animal sightings. Unfortunately, we didn’t bring a camera suitable for clear wildlife shots, but we did the best we could. Check out our grainy successful safari sightings.
